(January 4, 2011) – (add)ventures, a multidisciplinary brand communications firm, has received The Summit Emerging Media award, recognizing the company’s innovative work for the Florida International University’s Be the Boss Challenge. (add)ventures earned the recognition facing tough competition from companies across 24 different countries.

The MBA at FIU Be the Boss Challenge campaign generated word of mouth and viral buzz about the master’s of business degree programs at FIU among thousands of young professionals through events and online communications. The project utilized a wide range of marketing disciplines, such as experiential marketing, social media, web, video and community engagement. This helped to generate awareness among prospective students, built pride and word of mouth among alumni, and reinforced the ‘Uncommon Thinkers’ brand.

The Be the Boss Challenge was an interactive component that put participants in charge with interactive role-playing. A mobile office was created and driven to local hotspots around Miami Dade and Broward counties. Inside the office were two improv actors who engaged participants in fun and outrageous business dilemmas, all while considering the benefits of getting an MBA at FIU. Videos of the participants were hosted on a branded Facebook applications where people could vote for their favorites. The “best boss” was chosen by popular vote and received an Apple iPad.

The Summit Emerging Media Award was created to identify the world’s communication pioneers. The award is meant for those whom are pushing the bounds of the communication realm, exploring and examining all forms of emerging media. (add)ventures won the Leader Award, which recognizes directing movement and helping to lead the industry. Winners are thought to be pacesetters in all of emerging media.

The Summit International Awards (SIA) organization was founded in 1994. The organization conducts the Summit Creative Award, the Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award and the Summit Emerging Media Award. The 2010 competition is the 16th year for the creative competition.
