MIDDLETOWN – Mobile entertainment and communications company KVH Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: KVHI) has been named Communications Company of the Year by Houseboating Adventures magazine.
The company is one of eight winners in Houseboating Adventures’ 2007 DIGI Awards. The magazine also named a houseboating company, ultra-custom manufacturer, houseboat safety product, vacation company, cruising manufacturer, comeback company and houseboat impact designer of the year.
“Without their leadership, without their performance setting standards, without their customer service, without their innovative products and vision, houseboating could have become just another cottage industry swept aside by the future,” Michael McDonald-Low, the magazine’s managing editor, said of this year’s winners.
“We are extremely proud of being named Houseboating Adventures’ Communications Company of the Year, and receiving the 2007 DIGI Award,” Bob Cooper, KVH’s national sales manager, said in a statement today. “As the leader in mobile satellite communications, KVH is committed to helping consumers join the conveniences they enjoy on land with their passion for life on the water.”
The company’s award-winning civilian products include the satellite-based TracVision television antennas and TracPhone communications systems.
KVH Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: KVHI) is a maker of live mobile media systems and of navigation and guidance systems for defense and civilian use. Additional information is available at www.kvh.com.
Houseboating Adventures magazine debuted in May 2004. The magazine’s 2007 DIGI Awards edition – featuring profiles of each of the eight winning firms – can be viewed online at www.nxtbook.com.
