LITTLE COMPTON – The historic Stone House inn, which is being renovated by Goosewing Hotels & Resorts, this week was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Goosewing CEO Craig Pishotti and President Zachary Miller, both Little Compton residents, said in a statement that their intentions are to develop properties in “thoughtful” and “sensitive” ways.
“Historic preservation, sound environmental decisions and community engagement make good sense to any project, and we are dedicated to bringing all of these components together in Little Compton,” said Pishotti.
Since Goosewing purchased the Stone House – in a $5.4 million deal that was finalized in October (READ MORE) – the exterior stonework has been repaired using the same historic techniques as were used in 1854, when the building was first constructed, the company said.
The property features two historic buildings: a main building with 12 guest rooms, five of which are suites; and a smaller barn. There is also a basement bar, a former speakeasy called the Tap Room.
