WESTERLY – The Washington Trust Co. is bringing back its Red Sox checking promotion, in which the bank gives away replica Major League Baseball jerseys to customers who open a new Freedom Plus Checking account and sign up for direct deposit and online bill payment.
Customers can select one of four top Sox player jerseys, and will receive their jersey once the first direct deposit has been made and the first three different bill-pay transactions have been processed.
As a special bonus offer, Washington Trust is also raffling off a PawSox VIP package, which includes all of the following for the Aug. 31 game: A suite for 20 guests, including hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream and soda; the opportunity to throw out the first pitch; the winner’s name posted on the McCoy Stadium scoreboard; a photo of the winner with a PawSox player; and an insider’s tour of McCoy Stadium.
The VIP contest, which is open to anyone, will run through July 31. Official rules are available at all Washington Trust branches or by visiting the Personal Banking section of www.washtrust.com.
“The PawSox are a first-class organization and we’re proud to support the hometown team with our new checking promotion,” stated Elizabeth B. Eckel, senior vice president of marketing at Washington Trust.
Kids who open a new Cherry Tree Kid’s Saving Club account will receive a free Paws or Sox beanie, the bank said.
