PROVIDENCE - Carl Dunham, founder and chief technology officer of East Greenwich-based advertising company The Search Agency, will present tonight at the Providence Geeks’ monthly Geek Dinner, which will be held from 5:30 to 9 tonight at AS220, 115 Empire St.

The Search Agency provides search-engine marketing (SEM) and search-engine optimization (SEO) to online advertisers through a suite of paid search and organic search tools, including its AdMax bid-management platform.

Its unique approach to online marketing is based on combining proprietary technology with a robust service offering. It has resulted in annual growth rates exceeding 100 percent and market-leading client-retention rates.

The online ad agency last month announced a major investment by JMI Equity. “The Search Agency’s ability to offer first-rate service supported and enhanced by technology is unique in the marketplace today,” Peter Arrowsmith, a director of the firm and a general partner at JMI, said in an April 28 statement.

Last Friday, the online ad agency joined the Worldwide Partners Inc. global network of advertising and marketing services.

Topics of conversation will vary, but typically include discussion about AJAX, mash-ups, startups, new devices, innovative business models, interaction design, social computing, digital art and Web services.

Attendance at the Geek Dinner is open and free to the public, but RSVPs are requested via the Providence Geeks Web site so that AS220 can be given an estimated head count. Wireless Internet access is available to attendess.

As with all Geek Dinners, beverages and food will be offered for sale at the adjoining bar and at Taqueria Pacifica.
