SMITHFIELD – Sperian Protection, a leader in personal protection equipment, today announced a new line of safety eyewear designed specifically for women. The company says its new W-Series offers affordability, performance and multiple styling options, as well as an improved fit.
“Sperian understands that a woman’s face differs from a man’s, with its more-defined brow, slender nose bridge and fuller cheekbones,” the company said in a statement. “The company designed the W-Series with those distinctions in mind to create a secure, comfortable, all-day fit for women – while incorporating stylish touches such as rhinestone [or] metallic accents and a dusty-rose frame option for added feminine appeal.”
Yet the W-Series still offers high-impact protection, meeting the ANSI Z87+ standards; adjustable nosepieces; and 180-degree distortion-free vision, through an 8-base polycarbonate lens. Options include a range of tints for indoor and outdoor use; Fog-Ban anti-fog coating; or a scratch-resistant “hardcoat” finish.
“Many women work in environments that require safety eyewear,” noted Kevin Beckerdite, product manager for Sperian Protection.
“Finding the right fit with an appealing style can be a challenge,” he added. “The W-Series gives women the opportunity to feel comfortable and look great while providing premium eye protection.”
The former Bacou-Dalloz S.A. took the name Sperian Protection last August – shortly after acquiring Norway-based earplug maker Nacre A.S. – as part of a global expansion and re-branding effort, the bNet Business Network reported at the time. The PPE company’s Smithfield operation, founded as Uvex Safety Inc., had been known since 2006 as Bacou-Dalloz Eye & Face Protection Inc.
