PROVIDENCE – Dr. Barbara Roberts, a cardiologist at The Miriam Hospital and a nationally recognized expert on women’s heart health, was recently named one of “American’s Top Doctors for Women” by Women’s Health magazine, the hospital announced.
Roberts is one of only five doctors in her specialty selected from the Northeast. The list is available at

Roberts is director of the Women’s Cardiac Center at the Miriam and an associate clinical professor of medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She was the first female cardiologist in Rhode Island and the first woman accepted into the Gorlin cardiology fellowship at the former Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
