Briarcliffe Gardens project breaks ground

JOHNSTON – Briarcliffe Manor held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a multimillion-dollar, 43-bed Briarcliffe Gardens Alzheimer’s Assisted Living Residence this month.

“Even though we live in financially troubled times, it makes a lot of sense to proceed,” Briarcliffe Owner and CEO Akshay K. Talwar said in a statement. “We have designed an efficient building that is economically viable because we consciously eliminated wasteful elements throughout the design process.”

He added, “Demand for our services is high, construction and material costs are moderate, as are interest rates.”

Bank Rhode Island is the project’s primary lender. The project’s cost was not disclosed.

Briarcliffe Manor, a 122-bed nursing and rehabilitation center, is on a 20-acre parcel in Johnston. For additional information, visit www.briarcliffemanor.com.
